Markus Muse

Markus Muse is a self-taught artist and owner of Museart Tattoo Co. in Oklahoma City. Through his career in the tattoo industry he was introduced to oil painting. His work focuses on the search for meaning and identity within history and art. As a painter, Muse aims to connect the dots of African and world history. He researches daily and finds the portions of African history, distorted or untold in art, and tells those stories on canvas. Muse's style of art, classical in approach yet contemporary at second glance, provides opportunity for educational and historical dialogue.
